EMS Young Scientist Conference Award (YSCA) (application deadline expired)
The EMS invites applications for four Young Scientist Conference Awards (YSCA) to support the participation of young scientists at the EMS2023 in Bratislava. The award consists of registration fees for the event and financial support of €300 for travel expenditures. Please note that, despite the EMS2023 being a hybrid event, these awards are intended to provide opportunities for ECS to attend the meeting onsite.
Eligibility: Young scientists under 35 years of age on the first of January 2023 working and/or studying in a European country are eligible for an award. All countries with an EMS Member Society or included in the WMO RA VI region are considered as European. For more details on eligibility and documents required please consult the EMS AWARDS section.

- Please enter the session programme, select the programme stream and session you would like to submit your abstract to, and use the "Abstract submission" link associated with that session.
- Send all required documents, including the submitted abstract to the EMS.
EODS - EMS Open Data Stipend (application deadline 11 April 2023, 23:59 CEST)
This year, we offer for the first time the opportunity to attend our Open Data session at EMS2023 with financial support from ECMWF - "EODS" is short for "EMS participation stipend for the Open Data Session, funded by ECMWF". This funding opportunity is meant for open source developers and other people active in open data who do not have an affiliation that can finance them attending EMS2023. We will support up to three persons as presenting authors in the session, reimbursing each for the €250 early online registration fee plus one €40 APF once both has been paid, see "How EODS works" below. Additionally, we reimburse the €40 APF for abstracts in our Open Data session submitted by people who receive the EMS registration fee waiver, see next paragraph.
Please note that independent of this Open Data session offer, EMS offers to apply for a registration fee waiver which is encouraged for but not limited to early career scientists. With the EMS registration fee waiver, you are able to apply for waiving of either the online or onsite registration fee. If you receive that fee waiver and contribute to our Open Data with an abstract for a talk or poster, we will reimburse the APF for you on top of the EMS registration fee waiver (but not more).
For details how EODS works please consult the Open data session scope description.
